On the 28th, SK Broadband announced that it is partnering with Hyundai Card to release two types of cards: the ‘Ocean Edition’ and the ‘Internet Edition’. The two companies recently joined forces to provide customers with the best customized content and a new media life experience as the media market expands.
First, the Ocean Edition card prominently features B tv’s flagship subscription service ‘Ocean,’ which boasts the largest number of domestic films and the most new releases within one year of release. When the monthly spending exceeds 500,000 KRW, customers receive one premium subscription service for free each month, including Ocean (movies), terrestrial TV & CJ E&M (broadcasting), or Super Kids Club (education). For monthly spending over 1,000,000 KRW, an additional 10,000 KRW discount on communication fees is provided. For spending exceeding 500,000 KRW, B Points, which can be used to purchase VOD on B tv, are accumulated at 3% (up to 30,000 points per month).
The Internet Edition card focuses on communication fee discounts. When monthly spending exceeds 500,000 KRW, a 13,000 KRW discount is offered, and for spending over 1,000,000 KRW, a maximum discount of 20,000 KRW is provided. For SK Broadband’s online-exclusive ‘The Slim Plan’ customers, using the Internet Edition card allows them to use high-speed internet and IPTV at a discounted monthly rate of 15,200 KRW (up to the maximum discount), which is about 70% off the regular price.
SK Broadband is also running a card issuance promotion until October 18 this year. Customers who issue the Ocean Edition card will receive coupons for 9 latest movies (3 movies per month), and those who issue the Internet Edition card will receive a free 9-month subscription to the ‘Monthly Subscription Ocean Select’ (regular price 5,500 KRW per month), which is packed with popular movies and overseas dramas. The annual fee is 20,000 KRW for both domestic-only and domestic/international cards.
With this card launch as a starting point, SK Broadband plans to pursue a comprehensive business partnership with Hyundai Card. The two companies will strengthen cooperation through joint marketing based on data science and will incorporate SK Broadband’s security and internet benefits into Hyundai Card’s customer services.
