The total project cost of 262 billion KRW was invested, and the construction was completed after about 9 years and 4 months.
This road is expected to greatly improve convenience for road users by bypassing the Gumi city area and the national industrial complex to alleviate traffic congestion in the downtown area, and reducing travel time by more than 14 minutes (from 30 minutes to 16 minutes) compared to the existing national road. In particular, when the Gupo-Saenggok 2 section (11.9 km) is completed by the end of this year, the entire Gumi National Road Bypass (35.9 km) will be fully opened.

This project involved a total investment of 23.3 billion KRW over about 4 years and 3 months.
The newly opened road improves sections with poor alignment and narrow width that posed high risks of traffic accidents, enhancing traffic convenience for local residents and securing traffic safety for both vehicles and pedestrians, which is expected to greatly contribute to the prevention of traffic safety accidents.

Additionally, this section leads to Jinan Maisan, which the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport expects will help revitalize local tourism.
