View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] The mother-in-law of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol has stated that "(Choi, the mother-in-law of former Prosecutor General Yoon) was not involved in stock price manipulation" in relation to the Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation allegations and announced that they are considering legal action.
On the 27th, Choi's side lawyer Son Kyung-sik immediately refuted through a statement, saying, "Today, CBS No Cut News reported 'Prosecutors found clues to break the statute of limitations on allegations against Yoon's in-laws,' but this is a false report that does not align with the facts and legal principles."
Earlier that day, No Cut News reported, "Mr. A, an associate of Deutsche Motors, shared an IP with Choi and continued to share the IP with another third party afterward, so it can be seen as a sequential conspiracy. According to the principle of continuous crime, the statute of limitations is valid until 2022."
In response, lawyer Son explained, "We do not even know who the third party that Mr. A shared the IP with is, so there is no possibility of establishing a sequential conspiracy relationship. Therefore, it is legally clear that the statute of limitations has been completed."
He continued, "Mr. A's IP data is not new but data that was already secured previously. Nevertheless, the investigation team failed to summon Choi for 1 year and 4 months and missed the statute of limitations."
He also pointed out, "This is based on specific personal IP evidence attached to the investigation records and confidential legal review content within the investigation team, raising strong suspicions of collusion between the investigation team and the media outlet."
Lawyer Son added, "There is concrete and sufficient circumstantial evidence that the investigation team repeatedly leaks internal materials through a specific media outlet. We will clarify the leak route and consider legal measures regarding this."

The Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation allegations surfaced last year when Newstapa obtained and reported a police report. The core of the allegations is that Chairman Kwon Oh-soo of Deutsche Motors artificially raised the stock price from 2010 to 2011, and during this time, Kim Gun-hee, the spouse of former Prosecutor General Yoon, allegedly provided funding.
