[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] On the 27th, the sixth day since his disappearance, police continued their search for 18-year-old high school senior Kim Hweseong, who went missing after school in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province on the 22nd.
According to the Seongnam Bundang Police Station, starting from 10 a.m. that day, the police deployed about 180 personnel from three mobile units, along with helicopters and drones, to search areas including Bundang Yuldong Park, Saemaeul Training Center, and nearby hills for Kim Hweseong, a senior at Seohyeon High School.
The day before, the police had mobilized 54 mobile unit officers and equipment to search near Kim’s residence. On this day, they expanded the search area between the bus stop near Seohyeon Station?where Kim was last captured on CCTV?and his home, while also reinforcing the number of personnel deployed. The police collected black box footage from buses that passed nearby stops and are analyzing the videos. Additionally, they are conducting forensic analysis on Kim’s mobile phone and carrying out inquiries with his friends.
Kim Hweseong was last seen on the 22nd after school when he stopped by a bookstore near Seohyeon Station and then moved to a nearby bus stop. As of the sixth day, his whereabouts remain unknown. His card usage records show no transactions after purchasing a book at the bookstore, and his mobile phone was found inside a school desk drawer, making location tracking impossible.
