KOTRA to Operate Korea Pavilion at MWC for the First Time in 2 Years with 23 Companies Participating
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] The Korean Pavilion will be set up at the world's largest mobile exhibition, 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021,' held for the first time in two years.
KOTRA will open the Korean Pavilion at MWC, held in Barcelona, Spain, from June 28 to July 1 (local time), with 23 companies participating, including 14 small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies, and 9 startups. KOTRA has been operating the Korean Pavilion at MWC for 12 years since 2009.
KOTRA, together with four organizations?the Korea Information and Communication Technology Industry Association, the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, Daegu Technopark, and Seoul Business Agency?will organize an integrated online and offline Korean Pavilion with a total of 64 participating companies to promote to overseas buyers.
This year's MWC theme is 'Connected Impact,' depicting the future of technologies such as 5th generation mobile communication (5G), artificial intelligence (AI), mobile ecosystems, and big data that will change our lives. This year's exhibition will be held for the first time in a hybrid (integrated) format, both online and offline.
KOTRA plans to attract about 180 buyers and investors from 120 companies in Spain and neighboring countries to the Korean Pavilion. Buyers have shown interest in products such as ▲ AI accelerator platforms that shorten technology development time ▲ industrial personal handheld information terminals ▲ mobile phone accessories themed on K-pop groups.
KOTRA also supports an online exhibition hall. Through the e-directory on the Korean Pavilion landing page (the first webpage users see via search engines, advertisements, etc.), overseas buyers and investors can easily check information on 64 domestic companies in the integrated Korean Pavilion. Through the 'BuyKorea' connected to the landing page's MWC Korean Pavilion, product purchases and related consultations are also possible.
