Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts 'Special Safety Inspection' of Traditional Markets
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 25th that it conducted special safety inspections on eight traditional markets in the district for three days starting from the 23rd to prevent safety accidents in traditional markets.
The inspection was conducted in line with Seo-gu's special safety inspection week schedule, forming a joint inspection team consisting of local government officials and private experts in the fields of electricity and firefighting to check ▲damage to major structural parts of buildings ▲safety management status of electrical and firefighting facilities ▲whether evacuation routes are secured, among other items.
As a result of the inspection, minor issues were immediately corrected on-site, and issues that were difficult to address on-site will be continuously managed until the risk factors are resolved.
Earlier, Seo-gu completed the installation of fire alarm facilities in 1,046 stores within Yangdong Traditional Market last month with a total budget of 450 million KRW.
The fire alarm system, integrated with Internet of Things technology, automatically notifies the fire station and merchants in case of fire, securing the golden time in the early stages of a fire to prevent its expansion into a large-scale fire, thereby contributing to the creation of a safe traditional market environment.
