Seodaemun-gu Decides Priority of Collaborative Governance Agenda Online
Following the 'Public Forum' Held on the 30th, Voting on 13 Agendas Continues Until July 7
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will hold the public forum "Ilchwiwoljang" for prioritizing the "2022 Cooperative Governance Agenda" on the 30th from 4 PM to 6 PM.
To allow residents to participate conveniently while observing social distancing, the event will be held online (live broadcast on Seodaemun-gu Office YouTube channel).
In March this year, the district conducted small-scale online public forums by sector?economic industry, education and culture, climate and environment, childcare, and institutional administration?where residents freely discussed local issues, discovering 41 cooperative governance agendas.
Subsequently, through discussions by cooperative governance subcommittees, expert and department reviews, 13 final agendas were selected last month as the main agendas for 2022.
In the first section of the day, presentations and Q&A will be held on ▲ Strengthening the capacity of volunteer hubs in residential areas through Dong Camp ▲ Enhancing the Human Rights Residents' Council ▲ Building natural networks between people with and without disabilities, "Seodaemun Small Spark" ▲ and the Seodaemun Village Record Preservation Project.
The second section will cover ▲ Communication and intergenerational empathy projects, small libraries ▲ Energy-saving efficiency in low-rise residential areas ▲ Energy-saving efficiency in universities ▲ Energy-saving campaigns for 2050 carbon neutrality ▲ Zero waste and reusable cup sharing infrastructure projects.
The third section will continue discussions on ▲ Installation of portable ramps to secure mobility rights for people with disabilities ▲ Kitchen gardens by urban farmers ▲ Jumping up youth gender sensitivity ▲ and fostering a plastic toy recycling culture.
Proposal presentations will be conducted by members of Seodaemun-gu’s cooperative governance subcommittees. Residents can freely ask questions about the cooperative governance agendas through real-time comments.
The district will hold the "Seodaemun Cooperative Governance Quiz" before and after each section, selecting respondents to receive gifticons.
The final preference for the "2022 Cooperative Governance Agenda" will be confirmed through an online vote by residents.
Any Seodaemun resident can participate. Those interested can access EmVoting via the internet or smartphone from the end of "Ilchwiwoljang" on June 30 until 6 PM on July 7, verify their phone number, and vote.
Each individual is allowed to select five preferred cooperative governance agendas out of the 13 projects. The district plans to give small prizes to selected voters through a draw.
Based on the preference voting results, the district will supplement project plans through public-private deliberations, obtain approval from the Seoul City coordination and Seodaemun-gu cooperative governance council, and promote each project within the 2022 Seoul City support budget.
