Yeongdeungpo-gu Protects Safety of Single-Person Household Women with 'Safe Home 10-Item Set'
Support for 'Safe Home 10-Piece Set' for Single Women Households and Single-Parent Mother Families... Smart Doorbell, Auxiliary Front Door Key, Delivery Slip Eraser, Smart Door Lock, etc.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is providing a set of 10 safety home devices, including auxiliary door keys and window locks, to prevent crimes targeting single women households and single-parent mother families and to create a safe residential environment.
Recently, social crimes against women have been continuously occurring, and the number of single-parent families is increasing day by day due to the rise in divorce, separation, and unmarried parents.
In particular, crimes such as residential intrusion and stalking targeting single women households have not been eradicated, making the establishment of a social safety net urgent.
Accordingly, the district plans to work with the Yeongdeungpo-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center to provide safety auxiliary devices to relatively vulnerable groups, such as single women households and legally recognized single-parent mother families, to alleviate crime-related anxiety and strive to create a woman-friendly city where women can be happy.
The support items include ▲a smart doorbell that allows users to check the situation outside the door on their smartphone when the bell rings ▲window locks and auxiliary door keys ▲a delivery invoice eraser that hides personal information printed on delivery slips ▲a smart door that automatically notifies when the door is opened from outside ▲a smart motion sensor that detects motion during residential intrusion and sounds a siren ▲a smart siren ▲a smart hub ▲self-defense spray ▲a smart door lock, totaling 10 items. However, the smart door lock is excluded from the support items if the other nine items are selected as a set.
The support targets are women living in Yeongdeungpo with monthly rent deposits or converted jeonse (long-term deposit) values of 200 million KRW or less, including single women households and legally recognized single-parent mother families.
To apply, applicants can refer to the district website or the Yeongdeungpo-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center website, fill out the application form, and submit it along with the required documents via email to the person in charge (ydpfc@daum.net).
The district plans to support a total of 100 households in July, considering the applicant's housing type and safety vulnerability. Applications are accepted until October 22, but may close early depending on circumstances.
For more details, contact the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Childcare Support Division or the Yeongdeungpo-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center.
Meanwhile, the district operates various projects to ensure women's safety, such as the Safe Return Scout and Safe Return Path programs to assist women and youth returning home late at night, designation of Safe Keeper Houses for quick evacuation in emergencies, women’s safe delivery lockers that allow parcel pickup without face-to-face contact with delivery workers, and a citizen monitoring group against illegal filming.
