[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is starting a high-ranking public officials' integrity relay interview themed on integrity.
The high-ranking public officials' integrity relay interview will be conducted from this month until January next year to convey the integrity commitment and wisdom gained from experiences during public service of high-ranking officials to employees, and to foster a culture of integrity shared between new public officials and senior generations.
The integrity relay interview involves newly appointed public officials born in the 1990s, part of the MZ generation (born early 1980s to early 2000s), who have 1 to 2 years of service, asking questions on the theme of integrity and receiving answers from the 1st and 2nd Deputy Superintendents of Gyeonggi Education Office and heads of various departments at the headquarters.
During the interview video shoot, Kim Gyu-tae, the 1st Deputy Superintendent, emphasized, "Public officials execute budgets with one hand and laws with the other, so to be honest, they must perform their duties fairly."
Also, Jo Do-yeon, the 2nd Deputy Superintendent, explained, "Basically, it is necessary to comply with laws and guidelines and avoid involving personal feelings, but when dealing with people who do not get what they want, it is important to explain the reasons well and maintain an attitude that prevents misunderstandings."
Park Sang-yeol, Director of Anti-Corruption and Integrity at the Gyeonggi Education Office, said, "The integrity relay interview will be an opportunity for new public officials and senior generations to share opinions and thoughts on integrity," adding, "It will contribute to leading the culture of integrity at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education by harnessing the experience of senior public officials and the energy of new public officials."
