Gyeonggi-do Opens 'Tourism Promotion Pavilion' at Seoul International Tourism Expo
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will open a Gyeonggi Tourism Promotion Hall at the '2021 Seoul International Tourism Fair' held from the 24th to the 27th of this month, to promote the province’s clean valleys and pristine Gyeonggi Sea.
The province announced that it will set up the Gyeonggi Tourism Promotion Hall at the exhibition hall inside COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, and plans to promote non-face-to-face and safe travel by themes such as clean valleys, Gyeonggi Sea, and themed alleys throughout the province. A photo zone will be prepared at the event venue to allow visitors to take commemorative photos.
The clean valley photo zone is designed to evoke the feeling of summer vacation with clean valleys accessible to everyone due to the removal of illegal facilities, and trees.
The Gyeonggi Sea photo zone is set against the backdrop of the seas of five regions: Hwaseong, Ansan, Pyeongtaek, Siheung, and Gimpo.
The province also plans to promote seven Gyeonggi tourism themed alleys, including 'Suwon Hwaseong Haengnidan-gil', to encourage visits. In addition, a separate joint promotion hall of the Seoul Metropolitan Area Tourism Promotion Council, consisting of Gyeonggi, Seoul, Incheon, Gangwon, and Chungbuk along the Han River basin, will be operated.
Through exhibitions of representative tourist site images from each city and province, promotional video screenings, and various events, visitors will be introduced to the contents of the five cities and provinces.
Choi Yong-hoon, head of the Tourism Division of the province, explained, "We will promote the attractive tourism resources of Gyeonggi Province and the five metropolitan cities and provinces to domestic and international travelers visiting this Seoul International Tourism Fair."
