The volunteer group, consisting of about 40 members including the Gyeongnam Headquarters, county branch, and university students, visited two onion farms in Omun-ri, Obu-myeon, where they worked hard under the hot sun.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, participants checked their temperature and self-monitored their health conditions before departure, and upon arrival at the gathering place, they again checked their temperature and sanitized their hands before engaging in volunteer activities.
Lee Jae-geun, the mayor of Sancheong County, who visited the site that day, said, “I thank the Gyeongnam Headquarters and university volunteers for participating in this meaningful work to help farms facing labor shortages ahead of the rainy season. We will work with Nonghyup to implement various policies that support our local farmers.”
