Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing into Truck Waiting at Signal While Not Looking Ahead
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A fatal accident occurred in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, where a motorcycle rider collided with a dump truck that was stopped at a traffic signal.
According to Seongbuk Police Station on the 23rd, at around 3:25 a.m. on the 19th, a man in his 20s identified as A, who was riding a motorcycle heading toward Seongbuk-gu Office at the intersection near Hansung University Station on Dongsomun-ro in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, crashed into the rear of a dump truck waiting at the signal. A was transported to the hospital but died.
The police believe that A caused the accident because he failed to see ahead while driving during the early morning hours. The truck driver was waiting at the signal and is considered not at fault. A was not a delivery driver.

The police sent A’s blood sample to the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of the accident and death. Once the results are out, the case is expected to be sent to the prosecution with no charges filed.
