Lotte Department Store Gwangju and Suwan Outlets, Largest Wine Discount Event Starting from the 24th
Over 2,000 Items on Sale with Up to 80% Discount
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch and Outlet Suwan Branch will hold the largest wine discount event of the first half of the year starting from the 24th. At this event, you can find over 2,000 types of wines from around the world, worth more than 600 million KRW, at discounts ranging from 30% to 80%.
According to Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch on the 22nd, wine sales last year, despite reduced outdoor activities due to COVID-19, actually increased by 15% compared to 2019. This is analyzed to be because the ‘home drinking’ trend became established as a culture due to restaurant operation restrictions.
Wine sales at the Gwangju Branch from January to May this year also increased significantly by more than 43% compared to the same period last year.
Along with the ‘home drinking’ culture, this year, camping including car camping has explosively gained popularity, which seems to be making wine more popular among the general public.
Accordingly, Lotte Department Store will hold a ‘Wine Expo’ with the largest volume in the first half of the year starting from the 24th, offering popular wines at discounts of up to 80%.
First, the Gwangju Branch will hold a special price event gathering only the popular wines from the first half of the year. Wines priced between 10,000 and 30,000 KRW such as Lotte Liquor’s ‘Hopnob Pinot Noir,’ Geumyang’s ‘Sinquanta Collezione,’ and Naracella’s ‘Longban Merlot’ will be available at even more discounted prices during this event.
At the Naracella store, the ‘Pianente Single Vineyard 4 types,’ first released domestically from the ‘Pianente’ winery, which is recognized for its historic significance and beauty as a ‘U.S. cultural heritage site’ in the United States, will be offered exclusively in limited quantities by Lotte.
Also, at Ayoung Liquor, the ‘Martin Ray 3 types,’ which world-renowned wine critic ‘James Suckling’ selected as the best wines under 50 dollars in terms of value, are prepared for their first domestic release.
At Outlet Suwan Branch, the first-ever ‘Wine Market’ event will be held from the 25th to the 30th.
During the period, the French natural wine ‘Natera Rouge & Blanc’ will be available for 12,000 KRW, and various wines from around the world will be offered at discounts of up to 80%.
