Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital Operates Healing Experience Program for Medical Staff
Connection with National Jangseong Forest Experience Center until the 25th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital and the National Jangseong Forest Healing Center held a "Healing Camp" to help hospital staff recover mentally and physically from the fatigue caused by COVID-19. For staff who could not participate in the camp, a small-scale "Healing Experience Program" is being operated within the hospital.
Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced on the 22nd that it will run the "Healing Experience Program" in the lounge on the 2nd floor of the Cancer Center until the 25th to promote a healthy workplace culture through mental stability and stress relief for employees.
This program, supported by the National Jangseong Forest Healing Center, has been ongoing since the 7th and includes activities such as making cypress cutting boards, planting succulents, and tasting bamboo shoot tea.
In particular, to comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, the program is operated on a small scale, allowing only about 20 participants per day.
Earlier, the Korea Forest Welfare Institute operated a "Forest Healing Camp" at the National Jangseong Forest Healing Center with 93 employees from Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital participating.
Park Ayeon, a nurse who planned the "Healing Experience Program," said, "Employees are very exhausted due to prolonged COVID-19, working emergency shifts regardless of weekdays or weekends. I hope they can find some relaxation by planting succulents and refining cypress cutting boards."
Shin Myunggeun, director of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, stated, "I hope this will be a small source of vitality for a healthy life by eliminating depression caused by the prolonged COVID-19 and relieving stress. We will continue to operate small-scale, non-face-to-face healing programs while adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines."
