Haenam-gun Operates 'Just Walk, 777 Walking Challenge' Health Practice Program
Walking for All Residents Before Recovery: 7,000 Steps Daily and 70,000 Participants in July
[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan) announced on the 21st that it will promote the ‘Let's Walk 7·7·7 Walking Challenge’ to overcome COVID-19 and encourage healthy living practices among residents.
The walking challenge is a program designed to activate walking exercise, the easiest and quickest way to practice a healthy lifestyle, with the theme of restoring Haenam's population to 70,000 by walking 7,000 steps daily.
To participate in the challenge, install the ‘WalkOn’ app on your mobile phone, join the Haenam-gun Public Health Center official community, and press the participate in challenge button.
The period is from the 1st to the 21st of next month, during which participants should walk 7,000 steps daily. The first 160 people who achieve the goal will receive a Haenam Love Gift Certificate worth 5,000 won and a functional premium umbrella as a gift.
According to local community health statistics, the walking practice rate in Haenam-gun steadily increased from 24.5% in 2019 to 39.6% in 2020.
