Daejeon City Launches 'Student Culture and Arts Viewing Fee' Support Project... Targeting 41,000 Students
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is promoting the ‘Student Cultural Arts Viewing Fee Support Project’ to expand opportunities for local youth to participate in cultural experiences.
On the 21st, the city announced that it recently established the basic plan for the Student Cultural Arts Viewing Fee Support Project through the new Daejeon Committee’s ‘Cultural Arts Ecosystem Creation’ working group and has finalized consultations with the Ministry of Health and Welfare regarding the social security system.
The city plans to jointly prepare a business operation manual addressing issues and preventing fraudulent activities related to the project through a project advisory group or academic research in collaboration with the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education and the Cultural Foundation, and will commission the establishment of an integrated operation system including a mid- to long-term master plan.
Following this, a pilot project will be conducted targeting approximately 41,000 local middle school students and out-of-school youth this year, with plans to explore extending the project period until next year.
The target participants and project budget for next year will be determined through project evaluation and monitoring after the pilot project.
This project, which will be launched for the first time in Daejeon, will be implemented through consultations between the Minister of Health and Welfare and the city, following the establishment of a social security system in accordance with Article 26 of the Framework Act on Social Security.
