On the 18th, Son wrote on his blog, "There was news about the Unnatural Death Case Review Committee," adding, "Some people had informed me from the beginning that such a procedure exists."
According to multiple media reports on the previous day (17th), the Seoul Seocho Police Station is reportedly considering whether to hold a review committee regarding Jeongmin’s death case.
According to the Police Agency’s directive, the 'Unnatural Death Case Handling Regulations,' the police chief must convene a review committee for cases such as ▲unnatural death cases where the identity of the deceased is not confirmed ▲cases where the bereaved family raises objections to the investigation results ▲and other unnatural death cases deemed necessary for review by the police chief, to deliberate on the need for supplementary investigation and whether to close the case.
Regarding this, Son said, "Since it’s the same police, I wondered if adding external members to the committee would make any difference, but are they trying to prevent even the attempt from the start?" He added, "Or are they just testing the waters, or did the real fisherman (witness) fail, so they don’t know and just say they don’t know?"
He continued, "Some tell me to have hope, but based on what I’ve seen so far, I feel more fear than hope."
Meanwhile, Son also shared his sorrowful feelings after the death of his son Jeongmin.
He said, "Jeongmin’s room has been frozen in time since that day," adding, "The clothes in the wardrobe remain as they were, and the socks and underwear neatly folded by his mother are still there."
He continued, "Since that day, Jeongmin’s laundry disappeared, so the amount of washing has drastically decreased, and my wife says she has no joy without Jeongmin who used to eat deliciously," he conveyed.
