[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Yangcheon-gu Integrated Defense Council (Chairman Kim Soo-young) held its 2nd quarter regular meeting on the 15th at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center on the 3rd floor of the district office.
The Yangcheon-gu Integrated Defense Council, composed of civilians, government officials, military, and police, holds regular quarterly meetings to strengthen the local security system.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the council members, consisting of heads of key local institutions such as the military unit (Unit 7688), police station, fire station, and education support office, have been cooperating with Yangcheon-gu to carry out roles such as vaccine transportation support, vaccination center management support, and maintaining order.
At the regular meeting held on the 15th, they shared various disaster response statuses, including the COVID-19 response status and vaccination status of the Yangcheon-gu Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, which has been operating for over 500 days, and discussed building a close future cooperation system.
In particular, at this meeting, Vice Chairman Yoon Dae-ju and the members delivered encouragement gifts to express their gratitude to the officials and volunteers working at the vaccination centers for their dedication to the vaccination efforts.

Kim Soo-young, the chairman of the council and mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “With 20% of Yangcheon-gu residents having completed vaccination so far and the vaccination progressing smoothly, it is time to proactively prepare for the post-COVID-19 situation. While doing our best to end COVID-19 early, the Integrated Defense Council will also consider its role regarding local security after returning to daily life.”
