Gimhae City Conducts Inspections of 2,600 Air and Wastewater Emission Facilities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 17th, Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced that it will conduct inspections after prior notification targeting 2,600 air and wastewater discharge facilities within the jurisdiction.
The city plans to move away from inspections focused on violations by providing advance notice of inspection contents, aiming to realize predictable, consistent, and transparent administration, and to encourage voluntary compliance with related regulations by the discharge facilities themselves.
Each business site can self-check the inspection items notified in advance, review the management guidelines for prevention facilities, and identify any deficiencies to prepare for the inspection.
The city expects that prior notice of inspection items will reduce violations, but will take strong measures against companies violating related regulations during surprise inspections despite prior notification.
