One Firefighter Trapped at Icheon Coupang Logistics Center Fire... Rescue Operation Underway
On the morning of the 17th, firefighters are conducting extinguishing operations at the Coupang Deokpyeong Logistics Center located in Majang-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, where a fire broke out.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A fire broke out at the Coupang logistics center located in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, trapping one firefighter. Rescue operations are currently underway.
According to the fire authorities on the 17th, around 1:50 PM, Fire Lieutenant A from the Gwangju Fire Station 119 Rescue Team became trapped on the second basement floor of the logistics center.
Lieutenant A and four fellow firefighters entered the second basement floor, where the fire is believed to have started, but have not been able to exit the building. Of the four who entered together, three evacuated, but one was exhausted and was taken to the hospital.
Earlier that day, at around 5:35 AM, the fire authorities received a fire report and within about 20 minutes issued a 'Response Level 2' alert, mobilizing personnel and equipment from the jurisdictional fire station and 5 to 6 neighboring fire stations.

With about 150 personnel and 60 pieces of equipment deployed to suppress the fire, the blaze was brought under control at around 8:20 AM, approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes after it started. The fire authorities then gradually lifted the previously issued alerts and proceeded with mop-up operations. However, at around 11:50 AM, flames flared up again inside, prompting firefighters conducting internal extinguishing operations to receive emergency evacuation orders and evacuate. At around 12:14 PM, the authorities reissued the Response Level 2 alert and are continuing firefighting efforts.
