Winia Electronics Hosts Appreciation Event for Mexican Korean War Veterans
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Winia Electronics announced on the 17th that it recently held a gratitude event inviting Mexican Korean War veterans in Mexico, together with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mexico, and the Korean Cultural Center, to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Korean War.
The gratitude event for Korean War veterans was organized by Winia Electronics on the 11th with the purpose of fulfilling its social responsibility as a global home appliance company and strengthening the bond between Korea and Mexico.
Winia Electronics presented plaques of appreciation to the veterans and their bereaved families and donated encouragement gifts consisting of its products such as refrigerators, washing machines, and microwaves. Among the 1.8 million U.S. military veterans who participated in the Korean War, about 100,000 were Mexican or Mexican-American youths.
