Gokseong-gun to Develop Family Art Village as a Leisure-type MICE Center

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 16th that it plans to develop Gajeong Art Village into a resort-type MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) center suitable for small-scale corporate meetings and tourism.
Recently opened in Gokseong-gun, Gajeong Art Village is equipped with exhibition spaces, experience programs, accommodations, and convenience facilities. Major facilities include a gallery, outdoor performance hall, craft experience center, pension, and cafeteria among other amenities.
In particular, the gallery exhibits various works through a partnership with the famous Seoul gallery ‘Hakgojae.’ Additionally, visitors can enjoy diverse experiences such as marionette puppet shows, glass crafts, and pottery crafts.
Moreover, Gokseong-gun’s excellent geographical accessibility, diverse tourist resources, and clean natural environment make Gajeong Art Village an ideal resort-type MICE facility. Nearby attractions along the Seomjin River include a steam locomotive, rail bike, zipline, suspension bridge, and an observatory.

A county official stated, “Gajeong Art Village was selected as a new facility for the Jeollanam-do resort-type MICE development project in 2021. We will build infrastructure for meetings and experiences to attract companies and groups, and through diverse content, we will do our best to transform it into our county’s representative tourist resort.”
