HiteJinro Selected as the World's No.1 Distilled Spirits Brand

HiteJinro announced on the 16th that its soju umbrella brand "Jinro (JINRO)" has been selected as the world's best-selling distilled liquor brand for 20 consecutive years. According to the UK-based liquor specialist media "Drink International," HiteJinro's soju products, including Chamisul, recorded sales of 2.3825 billion bottles last year, showing about 10% growth compared to 2019. Overseas, HiteJinro operates all its soju products under the unified brand name "Jinro (JINRO)" to make it easy for foreigners to recognize and pronounce.
In a situation where the global distilled liquor market shrank by about 9% compared to the previous year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 10% growth of Korea's representative soju brands such as Chamisul is a very remarkable achievement. HiteJinro evaluates that flexible responses to the changing environment, such as an increase in the home-use market due to shutdowns, strengthened brand promotion activities using online channels, and diversification of soju consumption (soju cocktails), were key factors.
In particular, Jinro secured first place by recording sales three times higher than the second-ranked distilled liquor brand, which is the number one brand in the Philippines. To commemorate 20 consecutive years of being the world's top-selling distilled liquor, HiteJinro will hold a special appreciation event from the 16th for one month, giving away prizes through its official social network service (SNS) global page.
