[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the afternoon of the 15th, Chaehyunil, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, held a meeting to communicate with elderly guardians in commemoration of the 'Elder Abuse Prevention Day' at the first-floor conference room of Yeongdeungpo District Office.
At the meeting, Lee Ji-eun, director of the Senior Care Center, and nine guardians of elderly facility users attended, sharing suggestions for improving elderly welfare and ideas for preventing elder abuse. Mayor Chaehyunil stated, “To prevent elder abuse, active interest and understanding from members of society regarding the safety and dignity of the elderly must be prioritized.” He added, “We will continue to carefully manage policies to enhance the rights and welfare of the elderly so that they can enjoy a healthy and happy life.”
