Gmarket Touch is a campaign aimed at soothing and healing the widespread loneliness, anxiety, and trauma in society. Each time a Gmarket member participates in the Touch campaign, Gmarket contributes funds from its customer-participation social contribution fund called Support Shopping. Last year, the cumulative number of campaign participations by Gmarket members exceeded 1.1 million, resulting in support worth approximately 160 million KRW through customer participation.
This year, with the theme of family, the campaign was conducted from February 16 to March 9, targeting families of traffic accident victims. The funds raised through customer participation are used by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority to provide psychological stabilization services to victim families suffering from mental distress caused by depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder due to car accidents. Professional counselors visit the affected families directly to conduct psychological assessments and counseling, and a healing camp will also be operated in cooperation with the Korea Forest Welfare Institute.
Cho Kyung-soo, Head of the Traffic Safety Division at the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, expressed gratitude, saying, "We appreciate that a private company has taken the initiative to support the psychological care program for families of traffic accident victims, which has been steadily ongoing." He added, "This will greatly help heal the anxiety of traffic accident families and stabilize their households."
