[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The group BTS's new song "Butter" has once again claimed the number one spot on the US Billboard "Hot 100" chart. It debuted at number one and has maintained the top position for three consecutive weeks.
On the 14th (local time), Billboard announced on its official website that BTS's digital single "Butter," released on the 21st of last month, has topped the main singles chart "Hot 100" for three consecutive weeks.
According to MRC Data cited by Billboard, "Butter" recorded 24.6 million radio audience impressions in the weekly tally up to the 13th, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous week. "Butter" has also held the top spot on the "Digital Song Sales" chart for three weeks straight.
BTS previously set a record with their digital single "Dynamite," released in August last year, by topping the "Hot 100" chart for two consecutive weeks, but this is their first time maintaining the top spot for three consecutive weeks. "Dynamite" debuted at number one on the Billboard "Hot 100" chart dated September 5 last year and held the top position again on the September 12 chart, achieving two consecutive weeks at number one. "Dynamite" reclaimed the top spot on the chart dated October 3, its fifth week after release, marking a total of three weeks at number one on the "Hot 100."
Since achieving the first number one on the "Hot 100" by a Korean artist with "Dynamite" (3 times), BTS has also reached number one once each with the remix version of "Savage Love," which they featured in, and the title track "Life Goes On" from the album "BE." Including the three weeks with "Butter," BTS has reached the top of the "Hot 100" a total of eight times.
