Yeonggwang-gun Extends 'Social Distancing' Until the 4th of Next Month
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seong-jeong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 14th that it conducted education on the pilot implementation of the revised Jeollanam-do social distancing guidelines, which will be extended for three weeks until the 4th of next month, targeting senior public officials.
Since last month, Jeollanam-do has been implementing the first phase of the revised social distancing pilot program. Starting today, private gatherings are allowed up to 8 people, and the capacity of religious facilities will be expanded from the current 30% to 50%.
However, entertainment establishments such as nightclubs, karaoke bars, hunting pubs, colatecs, dance halls, holdem pubs, and singing practice rooms are still considered high-risk, so private gatherings of 5 or more people remain prohibited.
Those who have completed vaccination are allowed to consume food at social welfare facilities such as senior centers and welfare centers, as well as religious facilities. From the 1st of next month, they will be excluded from the calculation of the number of users allowed in indoor and outdoor multi-use facilities.
Exclusion from the capacity calculation also applies to regular religious activities (regular worship, mass, Buddhist ceremonies, memorial services, etc.), and choirs and small group meetings composed only of vaccinated individuals will be permitted.
The county plans to strengthen on-site inspections to check compliance with basic quarantine rules at vulnerable facilities such as school dormitories and company cafeterias, where infection spread is a concern.
Multi-use facilities such as restaurants, cafes, and bathhouses will enhance quarantine measures including immediate COVID-19 testing if suspicious symptoms appear, management of visitor logs, and regular ventilation and disinfection. A zero-tolerance policy will be applied, including fines for violations.
