Samjong KPMG Publishes Revised Edition of Audit Committee Handbook
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] Samjong KPMG announced on the 14th that it has published a revised edition of the "Audit Committee Handbook," which includes the legal and institutional aspects as well as operational and activity plans of audit committees.
Samjong KPMG first published the Audit Committee Handbook in 2015, deeply covering theory and practice with the aim of enhancing accounting transparency and advancing corporate governance in the industry.
Han Eun-seop, Head of the Audit Division, emphasized, "This revised edition improves readers' understanding by providing practical guidelines for auditors and audit committee members to perform substantive roles in securing domestic accounting transparency, as well as a compilation of relevant laws and regulations. It also includes comparative studies on each topic, best practice cases from exemplary companies, Q&A, and statistical data related to audit bodies."
The Audit Committee Handbook is composed of four chapters: △ Corporate Governance △ Audit Committee System △ Audit Committee Operation △ Audit Committee Activity Plans.
Kim Yu-kyung, Leader of the Samjong KPMG Audit Committee Support Center (ACI), stated, "This revised edition reflects the enhanced roles and responsibilities of audit committees in response to changes in the legal and institutional environment. In particular, based on meaningful statistics derived from data on over 2,000 listed companies built by Samjong KPMG ACI, it can present directions for the operation and activity plans of audit committees."
