Gyeonggi-do Hosts Forum on Former President Kim Dae-jung's 'Leadership in Overcoming National Crises'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will hold a forum on the leadership of former President Kim Dae-jung in overcoming national crises to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office on the 16th.

On the same day, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it will hold the Hope Gyeonggi Forum with Dr. Jang Sin-gi, a researcher at the Kim Dae-jung Library, as a guest speaker under the theme "The Leadership of Former President Kim Dae-jung in Overcoming National Crises and the Attitude of Public Officials."

The Hope Gyeonggi Forum is a lecture program hosted by Gyeonggi Province since 1998, inviting prominent domestic figures to nurture key talents who will lead future changes.

Dr. Jang Sin-gi is a "Kim Dae-jung expert" who conducted 41 oral interviews with President Kim Dae-jung and participated in the publication of numerous works such as the "Kim Dae-jung Chronology" and "Complete Works of Kim Dae-jung Part 1."

Currently working as a researcher at Yonsei University's Kim Dae-jung Library, he is actively engaged in activities, having recently published "Successful President Kim Dae-jung and Modern History."

Through this lecture, the province plans to reexamine President Kim Dae-jung's leadership in overcoming the national bankruptcy crisis together with the people, seek ways to overcome disasters comparable to the COVID-19 pandemic and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) crisis, and reflect on the attitude of public officials.

The Hope Gyeonggi Forum will be held with strict adherence to social distancing and quarantine guidelines, with about 50 attendees present and broadcast within the building.
