Mokpo Coast Guard Announces Installation of Notice Boards at 19 Marine Leisure Activity Permit Areas

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Im Jae-su) announced on the 12th that it has installed a notice board indicating the marine leisure activity permitted areas within its jurisdiction to ensure the safety of marine leisure participants and the preservation of navigation routes.
Recently, Mokpo Maritime Police installed the notice board at the pier (slipway) in front of the Mokpo City Culture and Arts Center. The notice clearly lists 19 permitted marine leisure activity areas within the jurisdiction, including Dallido and Jangjwado in Mokpo City, with latitude and longitude coordinates, numbered sequentially from 1 to 19 for easy reference.
A Mokpo Maritime Police official urged, "Marine leisure participants should be sure to check the permitted areas indicated on the installed notice board to enjoy safe marine leisure activities."

Meanwhile, according to Article 34 of the Maritime Safety Act, permission from the chief of the responsible maritime police station is required to engage in marine leisure activities within the permitted areas.
