Hanhyewon-Changwon City Collaborate to Jointly Establish a Hydrogen and Energy Convergence Hub
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power recently signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to Strengthen Cooperation on Hydrogen and Energy Convergence Projects' with Changwon City to lead the Green New Deal and carbon neutrality.
According to the agreement, the institutions will cooperate on ▲regional win-win distributed and large-scale fuel cell convergence projects (gradual blue hydrogenization) ▲joint participation in hydrogen energy circulation system demonstration projects ▲energy self-sufficient (carbon-neutral) smart city and RE100 green industrial complex development projects ▲biogas-based hybrid hydrogen convergence projects ▲green energy-linked data center development projects ▲and fostering the SMR and hydrogen-related industrial ecosystem within Changwon.

KHNP plans to apply various convergence business models through this agreement. In particular, it will commence the country's first regional win-win distributed fuel cell and large-scale fuel cell power generation projects within this year. Biogas hydrogenation projects, carbon-neutral smart city construction, and green industrial complex infrastructure development will be further specified in terms of business models and methods and pursued in the mid to long term.
