Gongcha Korea Surpasses 1,500 Global Stores
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Gongcha announced on the 11th that it has achieved the opening of its 1,500th global store (Daegu Daegok) after 9 years.
Gongcha, which opened its first store in Hongdae in 2012, created a new wave in the domestic cafe market, which was mainly composed of coffee specialty stores, with differentiated concepts and menu strategies. Based on tea leaves brewed directly, Gongcha offers various tea beverages reflecting seasonal trends by adding milk, toppings, and more, leading the domestic tea beverage culture for the past 10 years by breaking away from the traditional static and difficult image of tea.
In particular, Gongcha secured a strong fan base with its customizable service that allows customers to order according to their preferences, from tea type, sweetness, ice amount, to toppings, surpassing 100 stores within 2 years of starting the business. Since then, it rapidly increased domestic stores, exceeding 300 stores in 2015 and 500 stores in 2019.
Gongcha Korea recently launched the e-learning app "Gongcha E-School" for digital education, converting overall manuals such as menu recipes, store operations, service, and hygiene management into digital content.
