Expanding Job Opportunities to Support Economic Stability of Local University Students Facing COVID-19 Hardships... Online Applications Accepted on Gwanak-gu Office Website from 9 AM on the 11th to 6 PM on the 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has selected 100 participants for the upcoming '2021 Summer Vacation University Student Part-time Job' and is now recruiting an additional 50 participants.
The 'University Student Part-time Job' is a job program operated annually during university vacation periods to provide local university students with opportunities to experience administrative work, enhance their understanding of district administration, and help form a proper work ethic.
The district decided to recruit an additional 50 participants following the initial selection of 100 university student part-time workers to expand administrative experience opportunities and support students' livelihood stability, while also assigning them to vaccination centers, public health centers, and other locations to assist in early COVID-19 recovery efforts.
Eligibility for the additional recruitment requires applicants to be registered residents of Gwanak-gu as of the application start date (June 11, 2021) and to be enrolled or on leave at a domestic junior college or four-year university.
The total number of additional recruits is 50, of which 12 will be specially selected from basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, persons with disabilities, and North Korean defectors.
The additionally selected participants will be assigned from July 5 to 30, working 20 days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (including break time) at COVID-19 vaccination centers (Nakseongdae Community Sports Center, Civil Defense Education Center), temporary screening clinics, and public health center screening clinics to assist with order maintenance and quarantine support tasks.
University students wishing to participate can check the announcement and submit their applications online on the Gwanak-gu Office website (Participation/Reservation → Participation Application → Administrative Reception) from 9 a.m. on June 11 to 6 p.m. on June 17.
Participants will be randomly selected through a computerized lottery system, and the final list of selected candidates will be posted on the district website at 5 p.m. on June 21.
Mayor Park Jun-hee of Gwanak-gu said, “Due to the impact of COVID-19 this year, many university students are facing economic difficulties as they cannot find part-time jobs. We are significantly expanding the university student part-time job program by adding 50 more positions to the existing 100. We hope this will be an enjoyable experience for students to earn tuition fees and gain administrative work experience during their vacation.”
