View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Thursday the 10th, the whole country will be mostly clear but will gradually become cloudy.
Due to a low-pressure system moving northeast over the West Sea, rain will start in northern Gyeonggi and Jeju from the afternoon, and in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong, and Jeolla regions from the night. The rain is expected to expand nationwide and continue until the 11th.
Expected precipitation amounts are 100?200 mm in Jeju (excluding northern and western parts), with mountainous areas receiving over 300 mm. Coastal areas of Jeollanam-do, southern coast of Gyeongsangnam-do, areas near Jirisan, and northern and western Jeju will receive 50?100 mm; the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and southern regions will get 30?80 mm; Gangwon-do, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo will have 5?40 mm.
From Thursday night, warm and humid air will flow in strongly along the southern wind, bringing very heavy rain exceeding 30 mm per hour to the Jeollanam-do coast, southern coast of Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jeju Island. Jeju is expected to experience heavy rain accompanied by strong winds with gusts exceeding 20 m/s, so caution is advised to prevent safety accidents.
The morning low temperatures on the 10th are forecasted to be between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 21 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust levels will be somewhat high in the western regions and some parts of Yeongnam in the morning, reaching 'bad' levels. However, from the afternoon, due to smooth atmospheric dispersion, all regions will recover to 'good' to 'moderate' levels.
In the afternoon, strong winds and very high waves will occur in most seas, starting from the distant West Sea. Wave heights in the East Sea coastal waters will be 0.5?1 m, West Sea coastal waters 0.5?2.5 m, and South Sea coastal waters 0.5?1.5 m. Wave heights in the distant seas are expected to be 0.5?1.5 m in the East Sea and 0.5?4 m in the West and South Seas.
