[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 9th that it will actively promote an employment support program after being selected last month as the only city in Jeonbuk Province to participate in the 'Youth Challenge Support Project' organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The Youth Challenge Support Project is a program implemented to increase young people's motivation to seek jobs and promote employment.
The city and the Youth Support Center will discover and recruit young people who have given up on job searching and provide customized programs such as confidence recovery, career exploration, and employment competency enhancement training.
Youths who complete the program will receive a support fund of 200,000 KRW, and lifestyle support services will also be provided through phone and email to help them enter social life and the labor market.
The city is recruiting participants for the first term of the 'Youth Challenge Support Project,' which supports unemployed youths' re-advancement, until the 5th of next month. Eligible applicants are young people aged 18 to 34 who have not been employed or participated in education or vocational training for the past six months.
The training location is the Youth Support Center training room, and participants will complete a program totaling more than 37 hours (up to 46 hours) over eight weeks.
The program will be operated in two terms: the first term from the 6th of next month to August 19, and the second term from September 14 to October 28.
Applications can be submitted through the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Worknet or the Youth Support Center.
After completing the program, it will be linked to the National Employment Support System, which is expected to greatly help increase the actual employment rate of young people.
