The 9th branch of 'Sweet Home' is scheduled to be built in Saha-gu, Busan in November this year, and the 2nd branch of 'Sweet School' is planned to be established in Inje-gun, Gangwon-do in October. Both projects are funded by the proceeds from Pepero sales.
'Lotte Confectionery Sweet Home' is a community child center construction project that began in 2013 with the first branch in Wanju, Jeonbuk, and has continued for nine years this year. It is a social contribution project jointly promoted by Lotte Confectionery and Save the Children to provide children in rural fishing and farming areas, who lack play and study spaces, with a safe and comfortable environment to study and play after school.
'Sweet School' was planned with the purpose of creating new play spaces within elementary schools to promote play culture and further guarantee children's right to play. The first branch was completed last October at Banggok Elementary School in Gijang-gun, Busan.
Meanwhile, in addition to establishing Sweet Home and Sweet School, Lotte Confectionery is carrying out various social contribution activities using the proceeds from Pepero sales. Since 2018, Lotte Confectionery has been conducting a 'nutrition support project' that provides nutrition kits and health education to children at Sweet Home. Additionally, the 'Sweet Picnic' activity, which invites children from rural areas to go on outings to landmarks, has been held annually since 2013.
