Helping Hands for Garlic Farmers in Cheongdo-gun on the 8th

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (Chairman Kim Jeong-hwan, hereinafter referred to as KICO) announced on the 8th that it has designated the entire month of June as the 'Rural Labor Assistance Focus Period' to overcome COVID-19 and will support local farms facing labor shortages during the peak farming season.
About 50 KICO executives and employees, including Chairman Kim Jeong-hwan, visited garlic farms in Cheongdo County on the day, supporting harvesting and sorting work while complying with COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as wearing masks.
This activity, involving the Daegu headquarters and Daegu regional office, was promoted as part of company-wide support activities for farms experiencing labor shortages in various regions throughout June. Previously, we conducted weeding work at the Busan Bapppun Sharing Community Shin-ho Garden in Gangseo-gu, Busan, by the Busan headquarters; side shoot removal work at the jujube cherry tomato farms in Sejong City by the Chungcheong headquarters; and pruning work at fig farms in Yeongam County by the Daebul branch.
