Previously, following the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's notification, the 'film-attached license plate' was introduced domestically in July last year, but the recognition rate of new license plates by existing unmanned traffic enforcement equipment was very low, causing difficulties in enforcement.
Jinwoo Sanjeon explained that by utilizing ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) development technologies such as unmanned traffic enforcement equipment, LED traffic lights, and Hi-Pass systems, it has developed the first system that accurately recognizes film-attached license plates.
The film-attached license plate introduced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is a reflective license plate using retro-reflective film. It is well recognized at night and has a great effect on preventing traffic accidents, and advanced traffic countries such as the United States and Europe have long adopted and used it.
Although it was first introduced domestically last year, problems of overexposure in existing unmanned traffic enforcement equipment have been raised. Because of this, the recognition rate was very low, and related ministries have experienced difficulties in traffic enforcement.
A Jinwoo Sanjeon official said, "Our unmanned traffic enforcement system applies reflective and non-reflective vehicle license plate reading technology and has been recognized for its technological excellence by various certification bodies such as patents, K-Mark, and excellent inventions." He added, "In particular, it boasts a high recognition rate for both existing and new license plates, helping to operate a seamless traffic enforcement system."
