Gokseong Volunteer Center Partners with Green Energy Research Institute to Assist Farmers with Labor
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gokseong-gun Volunteer Center in Jeonnam, in collaboration with the Green Energy Research Institute, conducted rural labor support volunteer work on June 5 to assist the Aronia farms in Gochi-ri, Jukgok-myeon, which have been struggling due to labor shortages.
This volunteer activity was organized to help farms that were unable to perform timely harvesting and pruning work due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the inability to hire foreign workers. Starting early in the morning, 38 volunteers from the Green Energy Research Institute participated. Employees, including the head of the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center, visited the farms in person and worked hard to assist with the labor.
