According to the county on the 7th, the labor assistance was conducted targeting small-scale farms that have been facing difficulties every year due to the aging rural population and labor shortages, and are unable to proceed with work as it has become even harder to find labor.
Despite the hot weather, employees from the Gangjin-eup Office and the administrative support department, the Construction Division, took the lead in resolving the difficulties of the farms by removing withered strawberry seedlings from the beds inside the hot greenhouses after the harvest season and maintaining the greenhouses.
Mr. Song Jae-ho, a strawberry farmer, said, “Due to the aftereffects of an accident during farm work a few years ago, I have difficulty working for long hours, and this year I was at a loss about how to manage the farm, but I am truly grateful for the direct help with the work.”
