Podbbang, Audio Magazine 'End of the Month Kim Eo-jun May Issue Published'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Podbbang, the largest podcast platform in Korea, announced on the 7th that it has published the May issue of 'Wolmal Kim Eo-jun,' Korea's first audio magazine exclusively released through its mobile app.
The May issue newly features segments on the military and mythology fields, revealing behind-the-scenes stories of military life from retired Air Force fighter pilot Colonel Kwon Jae-sang and retired Navy submarine captain Colonel Kim Yong-woo, as well as Greek mythology explained by Western classics scholar Dr. Kang Dae-jin.
The two retired colonels shared not only how to become a fighter pilot and a submarine captain but also their vivid personal experiences. They introduced the unseen mental struggles of pilots behind their glamorous roles and the Navy’s life at sea, where they soothe their longing for land with yellow dust blown from China, conveying the bittersweet aspects of their duties.
Additionally, Professor Yoo Kwang-soo of Yonsei University, who received great acclaim for his new perspective on the story of Hong Gil-dong in the previous issue, revealed the revolutionary nature of Chunhyangjeon based on historical verification, including the difficulty of Lee Mong-ryong becoming a secret royal inspector under the then bureaucratic system and the actual meaning of the service requested by Byeon Hak-do.
Moreover, in line with the project name 'Prefrontal Cortex Expansion,' episodes covering philosophy, opera, evolutionary psychology, and Korean culture as seen through the eyes of four foreign women living in Korea were also included.
The Podbbang magazine production team stated, “Until now, the audio magazine was only available through the mobile app, but starting with this May issue, it can also be listened to on PC. We will continue to produce audio magazines that add new perspectives to various episodes and diversify playback environments to meet listeners’ expectations.”
