Armed Militants Attack Village in Burkina Faso... 100 Dead
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Major foreign media including AFP reported on the 5th (local time) that 100 people died in an attack by armed militants in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
The Burkina Faso government announced that armed groups attacked the village of Solhan in Yagha Province in the northeast the previous night, burning down the market and many houses. It is tentatively estimated that 100 civilians died in the process.
Yagha Province is located about 250 km northeast of the capital Ouagadougou, bordering Niger. The government declared a three-day mourning period.
