View original image[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Kim In-sik, President of Korea Rural Community Corporation, visited Gangjin County and agreed to mutually cooperate in agricultural policy development and revitalizing the local economy by utilizing agricultural production infrastructure.
According to the county on the 4th, on the 3rd, President Kim visited Gangjin County and toured the Yeonbangjuk Ecological Circulation Waterway Area in Byeongyeong, recently designated as National Important Agricultural Heritage No. 16, and Wolnam-ri in Seongjeon-myeon.
President Kim first arrived at the Byeongyeong-myeon Office in Gangjin County, watched an explanatory video about the Gangjin Yeonbangjuk Ecological Circulation Waterway System, designated as National Important Agricultural Heritage No. 16, and held a meeting with Lee Seung-ok, the mayor of Gangjin County.
At the meeting, Mayor Lee said, “We hope you will show interest and cooperation in the development of Gangjin’s agricultural policy so that agricultural production infrastructure can be established for farming convenience, including designation as a World Irrigation Heritage and general rural agricultural and fishery village development projects.”
After the meeting, they visited the Yeonbangjuk Ecological Circulation Waterway Area to observe how water shortages and unfavorable agricultural environments have been overcome through the circulation system, and then visited Wolnam Reservoir, a target site for the multipurpose rural water development project, to encourage related personnel and inspect safety management status.
Gangjin County plans to continuously consult with Korea Rural Community Corporation by developing various policy projects for rural development.

Additionally, regarding the Gangjin Yeonbangjuk Ecological Circulation Waterway Area, designated as National Important Agricultural Heritage No. 16, a budget of 1.5 billion KRW will be supported over three years to promote systematic preservation management and develop various contents linked with nearby resources, accelerating the agricultural tourism industry.
