Government Explores Policy Measures for 'Digital Transformation' in the Content Industry
Content Industry Forum Held on the Theme 'My Expansion, Our Connection'
Examining Digital Transformation Changes in Policy, Games, Music, Stories, Broadcasting, and Finance
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will hold the Content Industry Forum from the 8th to the 10th and from the 15th to the 17th. Under the theme "My Expansion, Our Connection," the forum explores the digital transformation of the content industry. It examines changes across six sectors?policy, games, music, storytelling, broadcasting, and finance?due to digital transformation and seeks policy measures to respond accordingly.
The Policy Forum (on the 8th) discusses changes and response strategies in content usage, creation, distribution, and business models brought about by digital transformation. The Game Forum (on the 9th) looks at the expansion of areas inside and outside games and the direction the game industry should take. Participants include Kim Beom-ju, Head of Unity Korea, and Kim Jeong-ha, Executive Director of NCSoft. The Music Forum (on the 10th) examines new music business models. Participants such as Kim Jung-oh, PD at SK Telecom, and Maeng Seon-ho, Manager at Magic Strawberry, discuss the significance of the metaverse era and new distribution service strategies.
The Storytelling Forum reviews changes and cases in the webtoon and web novel industry ecosystem. Presenters include Jeon Dae-jin, CEO of StoryWiz, and Kim Eun-joo, CEO of D&C Webtoon Biz. The Broadcasting Forum features Park Tae-hoon, CEO of Watcha, Kim Jong-woo, PD at MBC, and Noh Ga-young, Module Head at SK Broadband. It covers OTT growth strategies, changes in the creative environment brought by new video production technologies, and new viewing experiences for video content consumers. The Finance Forum presents investment trends and implications emerging during the digital transformation era. Participants such as Baek Seung-jae, CEO of Central Investment Partners, Shin Kang-young, Director at Timewise Investment, and Go Han-eol, Director at Makestar, discuss corporate stage-by-stage investment attraction strategies.
