Police Send Gangnam Plastic Surgery Clinic Propofol Theft Suspect to Prosecution...Caught After One Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man who broke into a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, and stole medical drugs including the anesthetic propofol has been handed over to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 2nd, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul sent Mr. A, who is accused of nighttime trespassing and theft, to the prosecution the day before.
Mr. A is suspected of breaking into a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam-gu around 12:30 a.m. on March 25 and stealing two boxes containing dozens of medical drugs such as propofol and diazepam stored in the office.
The police analyzed the hospital’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) and, after about a month of tracking, arrested Mr. A on April 26.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he stole the drugs for his own use, that he actually used some of them, and discarded the rest. It was confirmed that he did not sell the stolen drugs and had no accomplices.

The police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A, but the court dismissed it, stating that "his residence is fixed."
