Gyeongnam Province Provides University Enrollment Scholarships to Foster Local Talents
For current students who graduated from high schools within the province and enrolled in universities located within the province
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 2nd that it has provided a total of 100 million KRW in university student scholarships, giving 1 million KRW each to 100 university students within the province.
The university student scholarship program was first launched last year, reflecting opinions presented at a meeting between the province and university presidents in April 2019.
The scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in 21 universities within the province, taking into account their academic performance and overall lifestyle.
Ha Byungpil, Vice Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do and Chairman of the Gyeongsangnam-do Scholarship Foundation, emphasized, "We will support students in the Gyeongnam region to grow into outstanding talents without having to leave for the metropolitan area."

Meanwhile, the Gyeongsangnam-do Scholarship Foundation selected a total of 334 recipients this year, awarding 500 million KRW to 250 university entrance scholarship students and 84 million KRW to 84 children in protective facilities through the Hope Stepping Stone Scholarship, distributing a total of 584 million KRW in scholarships.
