170 Cultural Properties Selected for Follow-up Actions Including Restoration and Maintenance
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 2nd that it will actively pursue follow-up measures based on the results of the regular survey of provincial-designated cultural properties completed last year.
The regular survey of provincial-designated cultural properties is a comprehensive investigation conducted every five years on the overall status of preservation management and transmission, including the condition, management, and repair of cultural properties.
The survey targets a total of 1,535 tangible and intangible cultural properties, including 574 tangible cultural properties, 262 monuments, 39 intangible cultural properties, 21 folk cultural properties, and 639 cultural property materials.
The cultural property sites in each city and county conducted on-site investigations, and based on the preservation management status, tangible cultural properties were classified into five grades from A to F, and intangible cultural properties were classified into three grades from A (good) to C.
According to the city and county survey results, the province conducted additional investigations on cultural properties requiring repair and maintenance and finalized the grades by reflecting the results.
Analyzing the results of the regular survey, the province selected 170 cultural properties out of the total 1,535 that require follow-up measures.
