Police Decide Not to Prosecute Child Protection Agency for Negligent Response to Jeong-in Abuse Case: "No Charges"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] It has been confirmed that the police have concluded 'no charges' in the case where the Korea Child Abuse Prevention Association filed a complaint against seven people, including the director of the Gangseo Child Protection Agency (Gangseo Child Protection), related to the Jeong-in case.
The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 1st that they have decided not to prosecute the officials of the Gangseo Child Protection Agency (Child Protection Agency) who were reported for neglecting child protection responsibilities.
A police official explained, "After verifying the facts and conducting a legal review regarding the reported allegations, all the accused were judged to have no charges."
The Korea Child Abuse Prevention Association filed a complaint in February this year, accusing the Gangseo Child Protection Agency, which failed to respond properly despite receiving reports of Jeong-in's abuse, of being responsible for the child's death, and charged the agency director and staff with neglect resulting in death.
