Promotion of Health Insurance System and Full-Scale Launch of Smoking Cessation Campaign

The National Health Insurance Service Busan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters (Director Jang Su-mok) held a launch ceremony for the ‘University Student Health and No Smoking Supporters’ on the afternoon of the 31st at the regional headquarters auditorium.
On this day, to mark World No Tobacco Day, they conducted a no-smoking campaign targeting local residents.
The ‘Health and No Smoking Supporters’ group consists of 19 university students from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. They participate in promoting health insurance systems such as health checkups and smoking cessation treatment support, as well as the NHIS’s main tasks.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, they plan to actively utilize SNS (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and will also participate in activities and volunteer work linked with external organizations in the future.
After the launch ceremony, on May 31, World No Tobacco Day, the supporters conducted a no-smoking participation campaign and promoted the NHIS’s smoking cessation treatment support project targeting local residents around Deokcheon-dong, Buk-gu, Busan, to create a smoke-free environment and improve awareness about smoking.
