Naju-si Operates 'Damjaengi Market' in Seoseongmun Area
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 31st that it is operating the ‘Damjaengi Market,’ a place where the whole family can enjoy together, recently in the Seoseongmun area.
The event, hosted by the Naju Eupseong Area Urban Regeneration Residents' Council (Chairman Lee Myung-gyu), operates a flea market (flea market) and experience booths from 1 PM to 7 PM on Saturdays, and the period will be flexibly adjusted until the end of the year according to the spread of COVID-19.
The event sells instant food, handicrafts, and various daily necessities at affordable prices, which you would expect to find at a festival site, and welcomes family visitors with various experience programs such as wood burning, mother-of-pearl mobile making, marimo terrarium making, and water balloon throwing.
Among these, the most crowded place for visitors is the water balloon throwing course, the highlight of the midsummer festival, where participants throw water balloons at a comical character panel poking its head out, cooling off the midday heat and lethargy.
The Damjaengi Market distributes raffle tickets with new benefits to visitors every week, and various prizes such as instant photos (Polaroids), black-and-white photo shoots, hand sanitizers, masks, and experience program vouchers are also provided.
